Do good,
chew good!
The forest is not only in our name. It is above all close to our hearts: as a carbon store for climate protection and as a habitat for plants, animals, and us humans.
With our chicle chewing mass, we rely on a tree sap from the forests of Central America as the natural gum base for our chewing gum. In addition, every pack of Forest Gum sold contributes to active forest protection right on our doorstep in the Rhineland: with our Wildwuchs project, we enable natural reforestation on an area of 100 hectares and thus promote the regeneration of damaged forest areas.

Save the forest:
Project Wildwuchs
Reforestation on our doorstep.
Forest protection is also an important issue in our regions. Forests are gigantic carbon stores and function like huge air conditioners for the Earth. Unfortunately, drought, pests, and intensive forest management have been putting great strain on our forests for many years. A job for Forest Gum – let’s save the forest. For this purpose, we have created our own forest conservation area. It is located just half an hour from Cologne, in the Oberberg district.
It’s no coincidence that the project is called Wildwuchs: on 100 hectares we actively promote natural renaturation. In this protected zone, plants, trees, and animals regain their habitat. With new strength, a new ecosystem full of biodiversity emerges. In the long term, this has a major impact on our environment and our climate.

Forest Gum goes Science
Our forest is full of wild growth – quite literally. And that’s just how it should be. Soil and plants need space and time to regenerate. As wild as it sounds, there’s a system behind it – a scientific one. Our partner, the Bonn-based company Woodify, creates natural climate forests in Germany, working transparently and guided by the latest research.
More information about WoodifyThe basis is the forest biology concept developed by Prof. Pierre Ibisch and his research team at the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE). They regularly analyze the ecosystem performance of the forest. This allows us to scientifically track the forest’s additional climate performance and gradual recovery. For example, how much water the forest stores in the soil or how much CO2 is bound in the biomass.
